A Job Well Done

Lizzie sat in the darkened living room, reveling in the unfamiliar sense of accomplishment that suffused her. There was little doubt in her mind she was a constant source of disappointment and dismay to her parents. There remained little doubt as they made the point known to her on almost a daily basis.

But now, the bodies of her parents and her trio of siblings all lay in their beds, quite dead and quite horribly disfigured. They’d died still sleeping with no one the wiser. Lizzie defied anyone to say she hadn’t accomplished that feat with consummate skill and aplomb.
