The Blackstone Rings: Almost Home III

The telltale patter of tiny fragments against her canopy signaled Nadja's entry to the outer periphery of the field. She felt rather than knew that her pursuers had not broken off. With a cocky grin she whispered to herself, Davaj malchiki...let's dance.

Nadja ducked, weaved and bobbed her way through. The ships trailing her opted for a more direct approach. Flashes and tremors confirmed they were using brute force to hammer a path through with their weaponry. Crude, she thought, but damned effective.

Her sensors and her visual display confirmed the field was thinning. Having sustained nothing more than a few dents and dings, she was pleased. The pleasure faded to a frown as she prepared for her next move.

  3. Flashes, yes--but how could tremors be transmitted through space?

  5. Explorer Corps vessels DO have very minimal shielding. It takes up too much weight/space for the field generators.
