Letting Go


Bernard sat next to Stanley watching his father and the harbormaster arranging the passage. 

He would miss his new friend terribly but had, reluctantly, agreed there was simply no place in their world for a human child. 

Stanley would be much happier among his own kind than in the highly civilized world of the elephants.
