Frost eyed the abandoned factory dubiously. Not for the first time he wished he’d called Deke for backup but had opted not to. The note he’d found slipped under his office door was quite specific that he come alone.

He couldn’t risk Sophie’s life doing things any other way. She might not be much of a secretary but she was a sweet kid and she worked for peanuts. Oh, he’d get her back and then see about dealing with what he suspected was a client who’d rather play dirty than just pay him. Somebody was going to be very sorry.

  2. A lot going on here--a tense main story and back story in 100 words. Great job.

  8. Ah yes someone's going to be very sorry. I hope its not a conspiracy against him in which Sophie is involved too. The sweet ones are often just as wicked inside. Great take! :D
